Grant Application PortalIn 2026, the Falk Foundation will award the Falk Foundation Research Grant for the first time. The Falk Foundation Research Grant is endowed with 50,000 EUR to support early-career individuals (MD or PhD) and promote innovative scientific research projects in the fields of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

In 2026, the Grant is limited to applicants based in the following countries: Austria (AT), Belgium (BE), Switzerland (CH), Germany (DE), United Kingdom (GB), Ireland (IE), Luxembourg (LU) and the Netherlands (NL).

Are you eligible for our Grant?


  1. Do you hold a PhD and/or MD degree?
  2. Did you receive your most recent doctoral degree within the last 5 years?
  3. Are you currently based in one of the eligible countries mentioned above?
  4. Does your research project demonstrate a translational emphasis in Gastroenterology or Hepatology?
  5. Can your proposed project be realistically completed within 2 years?

Application


The application deadline for the Falk Foundation Research Grant 2026 is March 31, 2026.

Applicants should submit a proposal for an original research project in English language using the Grant Application Portal.

If you have not yet made a submission to the Falk Foundation Research Grant or any of the Falk Foundation’s symposia, you must register as a new user first.

PLEASE NOTE: Users of the Falk Foundation’s Poster Abstract Submission System are automatically authorized to log in to this system and submit applications for the Falk Foundation Research Grant.
